Is Novamox Safe For An Infant?

Question: Madam/Sir,my 3&1/2 months old baby was prescribed to take NOVAMOX REDIUSE 3.5ml 3(three) times a day due to his cold.Is it safe for him?

I have gone carefully through the details and understand your concern. Most often such symptoms are due to viral infections and antibiotics are ineffective in such cases. Antibiotics like Novamox would not help and irrespective of treatment it usually spontaneously resolves in 5-7 days. Although Novamox is safe, it is a very bad practice to give antibiotics unless blood tests show elevated WBC count or raised CRP. It may also have side effects.
