Brief Answer: DETAILS ARE GIVEN BELOW. Detailed Answer: Hello, Thanks for writing to us. Taking Morning after pill within first 6 hrs of unprotected sex gives protection more than 95% against unwanted pregnancy. Here, chance of pregnancy is quite LOW. Next thing, you will get a withdrawal bleeding within 5 to 7 days. It is a natural phenomena and usually stops within 3 to 4 days. However, your next period will be delayed for 1-2 weeks from due date due to hormonal imbalance. You should undergo one home pregnancy test after 1 week of due date (after 30th) to rule out pregnancy. Now, if you want to delay your period date for 3 days, then you have to take MEPRATE tab twice daily 3 days prior to period due date whether you get your withdrawal bleeding or NOT. Hope, it helps for your information. Kindly, close the discussion if you don't have any other query. Wish your good health and take care yourself. Brief Answer: DETAILS ARE GIVEN BELOW. Detailed Answer: Hello, Thanks for follow up query. Protection against unwanted pregnancy depends on effectiveness of the morning after pill. Actually, sooner is the better to get highest protection. This type of pill will give more than 95% protection when taking within first 24 hrs of unprotected sex, around 85% within 24 to 48 hrs and more than 58% within 48 to 72 hrs. To summarize, you can take morning after pill within 72 hrs of unprotected sex to work but protection rate will differ. Hope, I have answered your query. Kindly, close the discussion. All the best and good luck. Regards, Dr Soumen
