Is Mebendazole Better Than Hetrazan?

Question: Hello doctor,
i found a big worm in my stool (about 10 inches long). i consulted a doctor which prescribed me hetrazan 100 mg (diethylcarbamazine) 3 times a day for 3 weeks and zentel(albendazol) once a day for 7 days. i have read about side effects of hetrazan and how Vermox (mebendazole) is much better and efficitve medicine.. can you please tell me if the dosage is correct or should i seek other doctor

Mebendazole can be better than albendazole and can be taken as its alternative (not an alternative of hetrazan). If so, it has to be taken twice daily for the same duration.

I do not think that you need to see another doctor for this particular issue. Nevertheless, if you are still apprehensive, you may feel free to go ahead and get a second opinion.
