default
Posted on Tue, 4 Apr 2017
Question: Hi Doctor,
My exposure date - 22nd Dec 2016
- Kissing , touching cheeks , neck of girl of unknown hiv or std's status.
- Nude bath in shower and kissing her while bathing
- Sucked and licked her breast extensively.
- Nude on bed , kissing and sucking bed and penetrated on bed sheet( no vaginal touch and lip locking)
- She had some dry scar or white rash at ribs near neck and may be by mistake i have touched from my hand or lips.
- uthera contact to bed and her leg or stomach
My test
Hiv 1-2 elisa - neg ( 15 days)
Hiv 1-2 elisa - neg ( 51 days)
Though while doing these i was aware of hiv is not transmitting in this way and many docs here and my internal medicine doctor also telling me same thing.
I want to believe this lovely fact but my and my wife symptoms pushing my believes.
Now most troublesome symptoms are at 11 weeks-
- From last 3-4 days having extreme soar throat. While sleeping my throat was so dry and at day time its sometime mild and intense Soar
- very mild headache all the time.
- Yesterday Had one yellow ring shape ulcer and corner of tongue and disappeared in one day.
- sometime feeling pain in the corners of tongue.
- Yellow substance on the beck of throat but sweep after drinking water
- Mild dry nose & mouth.
- weird sensation in mouth ( some white spots not sure if due to some foods)
- shortness of breath ( sometime feeling difficult to breath)
- Pain near trunk area
I am in anxiety of last 2.5 months.
Some Doctors are saying u should hv 3 months test as conclusive and some are suggesting no further testing require considering my exposure.
I had couple of unprotected sex with my wife and she doesn't hv any stds that know 100% and than i got my 51 days test neg. will that be considered as exposure or not?
She is experiencing mild cough from last 2 months with no fever at all and i am dead scared of this symptom of her.

1. Doctor i am very logical guy and need your extreme advice .... this is all symptoms of hiv especially this soar throat started from last 3-4 days because its mentioned as one of the early infection symptom or I am suffering from high anxiety and depression.
2.What i have to address hiv or fear of hiv or stds?
3. I cant live in this way. What if i go for another test on 22nd march ( exact 90 days) will it change my status of negative 7.5 weeks with such exposure or i need to consult psychologist at earliest with fully assurance of no further serology required in my case.
4. Is these symptoms at 11 weeks time attributing to hiv or its repulsive effect of anxiety only.

Pls pls suggest on all points instead of general response.

Brief Answer:
Symptoms of yours and your wife's are not related to HIV.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query.
I went through your history. All your activities with that girl carry a negligible risk for HIV infection as per CDC, XXXXXXX USA.(https://www.cdc.gov/hiv/risk/estimates/riskbehaviors.html)
as well as for STD.
At the same time your close intimacy, kissing and licking can cause an ordinary throat infection, cold etc. Anybody can get this type of throat infection at any point of time, They are such a common problem for anyone. Symptoms of yours and your wife's are not related to HIV or STD.
Your negative test reports (ELISA at 15 days and 51 days) can not be considered as conclusive.
Your test after 90 days will unlikely to be reactive for HIV when it was negative by 7.5 weeks after the risk activities. Nothing to worry. Relax....

Brief Answer:
Your HIV risk is negligible only.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
In the absence of anal sex, vaginal sex and oral sex there is no need for HIV test in your case. If you are convinced by my words and able to remain calm, you need not opt for HIV test.

Thanks Doctor, I understand the point but these keep on coming symptoms and strange feeling are deiving me crazy.

Its now 84 days and i am started getting very dry mouth , one day ulcer on corner of tongue and then extream dry throat and some yellow colour substance at the back on throat coming and going.
While on sleep its so dry and soar that sometime I am not able to sleep but at at day time it become very less.
I am feeling like something got struck at the back of my throat but able to drink and eat properly.
Intermittent dry cough ( very mild)
When I checked all my symtoms on google in any or other way its associated to Hiv or aids infection ( spl dry cough and soar throat).
I visited on doctor yesterday and he said its nesal drop congestion and mild infection.

Since i had couple of timw unprotected sex with my wife on XXXXXXX 17 and from feb first week till
Now she has intermitted cold and fever ( XXXXXXX 38 one day ) and constant dry cough.
She has to go to Uae medical visa checkup on coming sunday and now m
Scared to dealth coz they also going to check hiv, hep B, C and TB.

Are these dry coughing is due to atmospheric change or suggesting some medical issue. Here in Middle east atmospheric changes are happening so frequently but 2 months ( mild/high) is too much time.

My wife asking me for another baby and m scared to go unprotected. Doctor its all my anxiety or stress or has any medical connection between the timelines , exposure and symptoms?
Should i go unprotected with my wife without any fear?
I not hiv than do i need to think of any STD test , will it require?
With how much upmost confidence should I go for her medical visa test?

Pls suggest

Brief Answer:
Your symptoms are unlikely to be due to HIV/STD.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
All your symptoms and your wife's are not necessarily due to HIV infection. Climate changes also could be a possibility.
Already 84 days over after that incident.
Even though your activities carry negligible risk, it is wiser to rule out HIV and STD with appropriate tests and try for a baby.

Dear Doctor,

I am confused now, do i need to go for retest or not at all required?
Is my risk is negligible or not at all risk of hiv/ Std infection?
Now 84 days passed which is actually 12 weeks and now fever etc?
Is all my symptoms R due to anxiety or std infection?
Every coming week i am experiencing new new problem?
My internal medicine doctor is suggesting on psycomatic treatment only?
How could be the possibility that such mild soar throat is sign of candidiasis? Or just its my mind playing tricks?
I had couple of times unprotected sex with my wife in last 3 months? But documents at CDC site are saying 90 days conclusive with no additional exposure in between these 90 days? Are with unprotected with my wife still holds 90 days test conclusive or i need to wait for more 90 days (if i need to go for final test)
Let me know if the lal path labs test (p24 antigen + antibody) will be conclusive if i take next week( 90 days)
Pls suggest doctor , its really imp for me

Brief Answer:
Your symptoms are not unlikely to be due to HIV.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
I am not able to say that your HIV risk is nil as I am not directly involved in that incident. So can predict the risk as negligible only.
Your HIV test report will be conclusive 90 days after the risky exposure. So your sexual contact with your wife can not be taken as risky as you knew her well. Test at Lal Path lab 90 days after the risky exposure will be highly reliable.
Anxiety can also produce various symptoms and at the same time sore throat can be a common condition and can occur to anybody.
