Is Feliz-S Right Medicine For Anxiety?

Question: I AM A CORONARY ARTERY DISEASE PATIENT FOR 7 YEARS. DOCTOR PRECRIBED ME DEANXIT, PROLOMEL XL 50,MONIT SR 30 ,DEPLATT A 75, . I WAS TAKING DEANXIT FOR 7 YEARS. DOCTOR GAVE DEANXIT FOR LOWERING TENSION & ANXIETY. I AM HYPERTENSION FROM 1990. NOW BP IS NORMAL .
CURRENT MEDICATION----PROLOMET XL 50--- 1-0-0 ( from-05/11/2007 tillnow)
MONIT SR 30 1-0-0 ( from-05/11/2007 tillnow)
URSOCOL 300 1-0-1( from 7/10/2014 tillnow) ---SGPT IS DECREASING NOW.
DEPLATT-A 75 0-1-0( from-05/11/2007 tillnow)
**DEANXIT 1-0-0 ( from-05/11/2007 to 5/11/2014)
***FELIZ-S 20 0-1-0 (from 6/11/2014 to 15/01/2015 due to unavailability of DEANXIT)******************
LIPICARD 160 0-0-1(during two years till now)
**LONAPAM .5 0-0-1 ( FROM DECEMBER-2014 TILL NOW)
IS FELIZ-S 20 IS CORRECT MEDICINE FOR CARDIAC PATIENT INSTEAD OF DEANXIT?IF NOT PLEASE PRESCRIBE ME NEW ONE.
I STOPPED FELIZ-S 20 DURING 25 DAYS TILL NOW.
I AM FEELING HEADACHE FOR FOR 03 MONTHS & FEELING BRAIN SHAKING ( SHIVERING ) DURING 04 DAYS TO TILL NOW.
PLEASE KNOW ME THE POSSIBLE CAUSE OF BRAIN SHIVERING AND HEADACHE. AND HOW SHOULD I GET RID OFF FROM THIS NOW I AM FRIGHTEND ABOUT THIS.
is it necessary to take feliz-s 20 this time?
SHOULD I TAKE LONAPAM .5 REGULARLY AND ALSO FELIZ –S 20 TOGETHER . when should i take lonapam and what dose and also for FELIZ-S.
PLEASE HELP ME GIVING SUGGESTION AND I WILL BE TENSION FREE.

Hello and thanks for your query.

I have gone through your case details thoroughly. As you have mentioned, Deanxit is a medication that is given for anxiety and tension. It is a combination medication that has two components - Flupentixol and Melitracen. But recently, Deanxit has been banned in XXXXXXX That is why it is unavailable now.

Feliz-S (Escitalopram) is an anti-anxiety / antidepressant medication which is widely used in the treatment of anxiety and depression. It is a relatively safe medication and can be used even in cardiac patients.

Now, since you have been taking anti-anxiety medication for 7 years and since you are having a worsening of your symptoms (like headache, shivering, etc.) after stopping Feliz-S, I would advise you to restart the medication. In fact, the possible cause for these symptoms could be the sudden stopping of the medication (which is not to be done). However, in my opinion, 20mg may be a high dose in your case and I think 10mg would be a sufficient dosage.

Regarding Lonapam (Clonazepam), this is a different class of anxiety-relieving medication and is very effective in the short term treatment of anxiety. However, if used continuously for long periods of time, there is a risk of developing dependence (addiction) to the medication.

So, my recommendation in this case would be to take Feliz-S 10mg and Lonapam 0.5mg for the time being and after your symptoms have reduced, Lonapam can be gradually tapered down and stopped (Feliz-S can be continued).

i also take at night lipicard-160(for lowering lipids) & ursocol-300 (lowering SGPT & SGOT for liver ). if there any problem to take above medicines with this ?

should i take feliz-s 10 at noon after food?
my brain shivering has gone but headache is still now.
how long will it be lasted?
if not cured what step should be taken then?

Hello,

It is better to take Feliz-S at night after dinner. Regarding your headache, don't worry, it should cone down gradually and subside soon. It is inportant that you don't get anxious or worried about it because this will only worsen your symptom. I would also suggest that you practice relaxation techniques like deep breathing, yoga, meditation, etc. as they can help reduce anxiety and thereby control your symptoms.
