Is FSH Hormone Injection Safe For Prolonged Use?

Question: Dear Sir
As you know my medical history i was taking lynorol, ccq etc..Now
new medicines he has prescribed are....
Novelon _ Desogestreal & Ethinyl Estradiol Tablets (from 5th of period for 21 days)
Clomipure 50 -Enclomiphene capsules (from 3rd to 7th day 15 tab)
lynorol - ( 9 to 16 day of period 8 tabs)
Ycyst forte (30 tabs from day of period)
Fostirel FSH Hormone Injection 300 IU (2)
to be taken on 3rd 5th 7th & 9th day of period injected
My Questions
1) Whether taking FSH hramone injections are safe ? Does it have any dangerous side effects?
2) do i have to take it on regular basis?
3) does it help me in conceiving?
4) can i take it on my own without any help from nurse? I mean inject myself through siring?
5) Why other above medicines are given?

Welcome back.

1) FSH helps to improve follicular size and is safe.

2) You have to take as prescribed by your doctor regularly.

3) It helps in increasing egg size and thereby helps in pregnancy.

4) It is better to take from a trained nurse.

5) These medicines are to increase egg size.

6) All medicines are fine except Novelon _ Desogestreal & Ethinyl Estradiol Tablets (from 5th of period for 21 days). They seem to be contraceptives and not to be taken with FSH or clomipure. That is confusing part of above treatment.

This medicine as advised is taken today i.e. on 5th day of period t

for 21 days. FSH injection not taken yet will be taken on next period....
as advised.
Sir will there be any side effects of this harmone treatment?

There is no problem using this hormonr FSH. It is commonly used and efficient drug ti increase follicular size.

1) Whether follucular size will increase after this treatment or there is still chances that this may not work?

2) if 2 300 iu taken in a month, that will work for how many months or days? or i need to take for some months together? very costly medicines....
3) The injections they have given will expire in april'15, so can i take it in nov'14?
4) if follicular size is still not increasing after fsh treatment, whats next?

Hi

1. The follicle size will improve after this treatment.

2. Every woman needs different doses and regimen. Some women get good follicular growth without injections. Some with 2 or more. Only treating doctor will be able to decide how many doses will help after doing ultrasound scan.

3. Yes these medicines can be taken in Nov as expiry is in 2015.

4. If follicle size does not improve after FSH injections different protocols can be used after seeing the growth pattern on ultrasound scan.
