Is Ellaone Advisable While Breastfeeding?

default
Posted on Sat, 29 Oct 2016
Question: I took Ellaone this afternoon and I am currently breastfeeding. I have breastfed my son all day today..... I didn't realize it advises you not to breastfeed for a week after taking the pill. What are the effects the pill has when it comes to breastfeeding? Can this harm my child?

Brief Answer:
Do not worry - do not breast feed the baby for another week

Detailed Answer:
Hi... it is recommended not to feed the baby for a week because the effects of the drug secreted in the breast milk are unknown.

It does not mean that it will cause harmful side effects in the baby.

Please do not panic. One day of giving breast feed for the baby will not have any serious adverse reactions or effects.

Please do not feed the baby for another week, that will set things right.
