Thanks for writing in.
I am a cardiologist and read your question with diligence. Most of the conditions which lead to venous swelling and blueness of wrist are those which effect venous system of both arms. If you can tell us your exact profession and answer a few question the differential diagnosis in your case would be confined to 2-3 conditions which can be easily excluded:
1. Does your profession involves one sided arm exposure to cold environment?
2. Do you get swelling of left arm ever intermittently?
3. Did you ever sustain a fracture on the bones of left arm or fore arm: or an injury, it might have looked minor at the time?
4. Do you have during your work a situation where pressure is exerted intermittently or only for some length of time, on the muscles of left arm or forearm.
5. Are you left handed or right handed? Which is your preferred arm for say while batting?

For veins carry blood to heart, not as passive conduits but they have valves in it and muscles of arm and forearm help in this pumping action.

Looking forward to hear from you.

With Best Wishes.
