Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome to Ask a Doctor service!

I understand your concern and would explain that this feeling could be related to the heart or a musculo-skeletal pain (local inflammation).

Do you feel this tightness during deep breathing? This could indicate possible musculo-skeletal pain, probably local inflammation or costo-chondritis.

I would also like to know more about your age and past medical history.

In order to investigate for the possible cause underlying your concern, I would recommend performing some tests:

- a resting ECG
- a chest X ray study
- complete blood count, PCR, ESR for inflammation.

An exercise cardiac stress test would be necessary to investigate for coronary artery disease, especially if you have cardio-vascular risk factors such as: arterial hypertension, smoking, dyslipidemia or diabetes.

You should discuss with your doctor on the above tests.

I remain at your disposal for any further questions whenever you need!

Kind regards,

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!

Thank you for the additional information!

Considering your performed cardiac tests, I would exclude any cardiac issues.

Coming to this point, I would recommend considering possible acid reflux or a hiatal hernia, which can trigger chest pain, especially after eating.

For this reason, I would recommend trying an anti-acid or PPI (omeprazole, pantoprazole) and see if it helps improve your situation. Performing a fibro-gastroscopy may be needed.

Another possible cause to consider would be a bulging disc in the cervical or thoracic vertebral column. For this reason, I would recommend performing a cervico-thoracic X ray study. A spine MRI may be needed.

You should discuss with your doctor on the above tests.

Hope you will find this information helpful!

Wishing all the best,

Dr. Iliri
