Do I Need To Be Wearing Condoms On My Current New Pack Since I Had 8 Placebo Days And I Technically Took 21 Active Pills In 20 Days?

Question: I've been on birth control since last October of 2017 and last month on my third week of active pills I took 2 pills of birth control in one day, so I continued to take my pills as is and I was a day ahead, so I had 8 placebo days instead of 7 because I was short one pill on my last active pill. Anyways I started my new pack on my regular day Sundays so do I need to be wearing condoms on my current new pack since I had 8 placebo days and I technically took 21 active pills in 20 days?

Thank you for your answer I really appreciate it. Just to clarify because I didn’t miss a pill and I took the extra pill instead my hormone levels still protect me throughout the 8 placebo days? Also my second question it doesn’t affect my new birth control pack because I started on my regular Sundays?

Yes. Hormone levels will protect you for the 8 placebo days.

Perfect thank you, I was really scared because I had the 8 placebo days instead of the regular 7 placebo pill period that it would be considered a missed pill bc I was ahead in my pack but I’m glad that it doesn’t count as a missed pill since I was just simply ahead & took extra dosage

Thank you and I just thought that because I took that double pill and because I was a day ahead of my pack that maybe it was considered a missed pill so that’s why I took the plan b?

Okay thank you and just to clarify I took the double birth control pill in my last birth control pack & had the 8 placebo break instead of the 7 days because I was a day ahead. I am currently in my new birth control pack and have been taking it continuously and I don’t need a back up method? I was concerned that the double dosage of the previous pack would throw me off this pill pack
doctor
Answered by Dr. Soumya (6 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
No need of back up method

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

There is no need of backup method. Double dosage from previous pack will not affect this pack in anyway. Dont worry.
