Question: I just started seeing a flashing white light, that flashes in time with my pulse, out of the left side of my left eye. I have no history of eye problems other than being nearsighted and have astigmatism. Should I go to the ER, and if I do, what could they do for me anyway?

Brief Answer:
Retinal examination needed

Detailed Answer:
My dear,
Thanks for sending your query to us.
This requires detailed retinal examination by a retina specialist.Till an appointment is made, what you have to do is to avoid heavy, jerky movement, excessive strain. This includes weights and games like badminton..
I expect some changes at the periphery of retina, which if there have to be dealt with depending upon their severity.
Do get back to me in case of any further query in this regard.
