Brief Answer:
Can be peripheral detachment. Consult retina surgeon

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
It can be a degenerative process of the retina-like hole, tear, or peripheral detachment.

Consult a retina surgeon for examination and follow the photocoagulation treatment to seal the peripheral detachment.

A laser beam can be used on the advice of a retina surgeon.

Symptoms are due to irritation of the nerve. If rightly detected then laser beam can be used for peripheral detachment sealing. Yes, it is a cause of concern, so treatment is required.

I hope I have answered your query.

Take care
