I have read your query and ibderstood your concern.Since you mention these patches since childhood and increasing in size I would recommend a dermatologist opinion in direct to rule out vitiligo or any other idiopathic hypomelanosis.So based on the diagnosis ideally phototherapy or topical steroids would be advised.
