Pain is not severe. It is mild, level 4 or 5 on pain scale, but it is persistent. I have no surface bruising/contusion.

She is a smaller dog but her kick was hard enough to wake me. Because of no outside bruising, I have not been able to know exactly where I was kicked.

In the rare possibility of an organ bleeding, even minimal, how safe is NSAIDs as treatment? Is there a contraindication to taking Acetaminophen in my case? The pain is not high enough to take any OTC painkiller in any case.

I may see a doctor if pain does not subside soon or gets worse. And of course if any new instabilities arise.

Thank you very much for your advisement and well wishes.

Sincerely, XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
In this case for pain killer you can take Acetaminophen first.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for your clarification. In this case for pain killer you can take Acetaminophen first. The contraindication for Acetaminophen is only when you have hepatitis from any of infection or cirrhosis. Even though, you still can take less dose of Acetaminophen, but if you have muscle strain or inflammation and acetaminophen not improve from the kicking. NSAIDs is good to reduce pain and inflammation. You need to take NSAIDs after meal because sometime it can cause stomachache.

Hope I have answered your query. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish you have good health. Let me know if I can assist you further.
