What Does Persistent Abdominal Pain Indicate Despite Cleared Blood And Urine Test Results?

Question: I have just been to A&E and the doctor has diagnosed me with non specific abdominal pain. I have been having intermittent pain on my right side the last 10 day's. Should I be ok? all my blood tests and urine sample were clear. Would you agree with his diagnosis? he believed there was no need for an ultrasound or CT scan. I don't have any other symptoms on mild gas at times. Please advise

Hello,

I can understand your concern. As you have intermittent abdominal pain from last 10 days. I think we have to evaluate it.

Let me know whether do you have nausea, vomiting, loose motion, fever, burning micturation associated with abdominal pain? Kindly follow up with detailed history.

Causes for right sided abdominal pain are Indigestion, appendicitis, renal stone, colitis.

I'd suggest you to do ultrasound abdomen and pelvis to rule out any possibilities. Treatment mainly depends upon the underlying condition.

You can take tab. Dicyclomine 10 mg plus tab. Paracetamol. Drink lots of fluids. Maintain proper hygiene. Take a light food. I think this will clarify your concern.
