Why Would I Experience Mild Abdominal Discomfort On My Right Along With Regular Belches And Flatulence?

default
Posted on 6 days ago
Question: I have been having mild abdominal discomfort on my right side the last 10 days teamed with burping and passing gas. It is a vague pain when it comes and I'm not sure if passing gas helps it or not. I do not have a fever or any other pain. I went to a doctor and appendix was ruled out. I think I might feel a lump on my right side as well. although I'm not sure if this is a lipoma as I have many of them all over my body. it doesn't seem to be getting any better. should I be worried and what might it be? I do not have constipation or diarrhea either

Brief Answer:
Investigations, clinical evaluation and treatment

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood the concerns.
The lump/s as you have mentioned may in fact be lipomas if they are freely XXXXXXX and are painless.
Your main concern looks to be right sided abdominal discomfort with burping, passing gases, appendicitis has been ruled out as per your history.
10 days of discomfort is a nit long time to have such a problem.
Hence I would advise you the following:
Tests of stool, blood and urine.
Ultrasonography of abdomen if not already been done.
If there is any evidence of an intestinal infection a prescription based course of an antibiotic, probiotics should help you.
In addition you can take a PPI like Omeprazole, Domperidone for burping and related problems.

Please give some additional information for me to assist you better:
What were the investigations done by your Doctor?
Which Medications have you been prescribed by your Doctor?
Please post reports of investigations and other papers if you have got these.

Take care.
Awaiting.

Brief Answer:
As discussed

Detailed Answer:
Yes, as discussed above- mild discomfort, burping and gases can be due to sub-clinical intestinal infection.
Hence the need to do the tests as mentioned above.
Please discuss these with your Doctor and get tests done to get a proper diagnosis and proper management to get a cure.
