Why Do I Have An Intermittent Headache That Has Lasted Several Weeks Apart From Dizziness And Lack Of Energy?

Question: I have an intermittent headache that has lasted several weeks. It feels as if my head swells when I bend over or exert myself. I am mildly dizzy at times and lack energy. I fall asleep frequently during the day. My blood pressure and temperature are normal. An X-ray showed no sinus infection or abnormality. I am a 72 year old male in good health prior to this. The only medication I take is mirapex for restless legs. 1.5 milligrams in extended release form per day.
I am not overweight, don’t smoke or drink to excess. I had mono several years ago and it feels something like that. I am eating well. A recent blood test shows no sign of infrction.

Brief Answer:
headache, dizziness likely associated with use of Mirapex.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the headache and dizziness at present are likely to be side effect of Pramipexole (Mirapex) used to control restless
legs.

I would like you to discontinue its intake for further 3 days and observe the progress of dizziness and headache.

During this period, you must maintain your hydration with plenty of liquids and can use tablet paracetamol safely for possible leg ache.

I welcome further doubts.
Thanks.

Dr. Purva
