Question: I have a question. I have coronary artery disease and a frequent flyer. This pay year I have flown from bangkok to us 3 times, but when I fly I usually fly with 1-2 (at the most) liters of contious oxergyn. Can I fly with pulsating oxygen. Because I pay for each liter of oxygen is a lot cheaper. Will it do the same. During flight my
Oxygen saturation is 97-99, but again that's with contious oxergyn

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Welcome and thank you for asking us.

Regarding your concern, I would explain that it is OK to switch to pulsating oxygen as long as you measure continuously your oxygen saturation levels.

The fluctuations in oxygen saturation levels may be more frequent and I don't think that it will make any significant change in the cost.

So, it is up to you to decide whether to make this change.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

The reason why I am asking is korean airline is only providing me with two liters for a 14 hour trip. There rational is each bottle lasts 4 hours on contious flow and I think they assume with pulsating I would use half of that. But doesn't it depend on my breathing rate.

My opinion as follows:

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!

Yes, it depends on your breathing rate and also your pulmonary function.

Pulsating oxygen may not be able to supply the right amount of oxygen during inspiration ( you have to adjust inspiration and the oxygen supply).

Instead, I would recommend lower the oxygen pressure during continuous flow, in order it can last more.

But, in the meantime it is important to closely monitor oxygen saturation levels with oxymerer.
