Brief Answer:
No, it cant be due to long term effect of Novacaine.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

I have read your query. As far as feeling lethargic is concerned after extraction, No, I don't think it can be due to effect of Novacine.
Lethargic can be due to few reasons that include:

- If you don't eat properly before surgical procedure.
- If you will be on limited diet after extraction procedure or follow diet restrictions post to the extraction. So your body will not get sufficient amount of carbohydrates .
- Sometime due to administration of local anesthesia or during the wear off of anesthetic effect you feel fatigue
- Sometimes it is due to medications. You're supposed to take antibiotics and pain killers post extraction.
- Taking antibiotics during Improper consumption of food can also cause dizziness or fatigue.

I would suggest you to :
- Keep yourself hydrated,
- Eat well (do follow the post op food restrictions given by your dentist),
- Frequently drink fresh fruit juices.

If symptoms persists then consult your oral surgeon for examination.

Hope this will help you.

Thanks for your help. This extraction happened right on the spot when examined. Xrays were taken and there was no infection. so, she pulled it after asking me. I am glad it's gone but didn't have any preparation food wise. I will buy some fresh fruit juices and drink lots of water. Any other suggestions, diet wise? I am not really restricted except for being careful with that area for another 24 hours......
