Question: I got my cholesterol checked for the first time in probably 20 years. My numbers are:

Total Cholesterol 246
HDL Cholesterol 77
Tryglycerides 144
LDL Cholesterol 140
Non-HDL Cholesterol 169
TC/HDL Ratio 3.2
Serum Glucose 83

I am not diabetic. I have no history of heart disease. I do have high blood pressure, but it is medicated.

I don't want to be on a staten right now. Based on these numbers do you think my doctor will try to push me to be on one?

Brief Answer:
Can be corrected without medications

Detailed Answer:
Dear Ma’am, I have gone through your question and I understand your concerns but your test results can be corrected by dietary and lifestyle changes...

You need to avoid saturated fats such as butter and oily cheese and switch to using poly and monosaturated fats such as sunflower and olive oil as well as fish products...

Also, you should avoid white flour products and switch to brown flour products or to whole-wheat products such as oats... Another thing is that you should increase your daily consumption of fruits and vegetables together with salads, omega 3 supplements every other day...

Exercising half an hour daily even by walking can help decrease the cholesterol levels dramatically...

I hope you find this helpful...Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards
