default
Posted on Fri, 5 Apr 2019
Question: I got a yeast infection from a guy I was dating a few weeks ago. I cleared it up by soaking a tampon in a mixture of Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar and water. On the third day it was becoming painful to pull it out and there was also speaks of blood. The infection is all cleared but I'm still bleeding a little, almost as if its just bloody discharge but it still has a smell.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,

While ACV can be good for yeast overgrowth, if you are having swelling, bleeding (a sign of irritation/inflammation) and a discharge with odor, it's time to go in to have a look to see what is going on and a swab to test for yeast or possibly other infection.

There are a number of different possibilities of what might be going on:
1. You continue to have a yeast infection plus vaginal irritation from the ACV/tampon.
2. You have a different type of infection (not yeast) which may be hard to distinguish from yeast based on smell.

So - at this point I recommend going in to be seen and tested to see what is going on.
