Question: I didn't get my mensual cycle from 2months. I consulted gynecologist regarding my period. She prescribed `susten SR 200mg` morning and `susten 100mg` night time. Actually I don't want pregnancy. Can you tell me for what this tablets are for. Doctor said if I use this tablets I'll get my period.

Brief Answer:
Susten SR is a medication that is used as hormone replacement therapy.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Susten SR is basically a medication that is used as hormone replacement therapy. It belongs to a group that is called progestin that increases the level of progesterone in women when this level is lower than normal.

Your doctor gave this medication to you due to your menstrual disorder. It is not related to pregnancy, your symptoms seem to be related to the fact that you didn't get your cycle for two months.

I suggest you continue with the medication as prescribed.
If you have abnormal bleeding, you should consult your doctor again because it can be a side effect of the medication.

Hope my answer was helpful. If you have any other questions I'll be glad to help.

Brief Answer:
Sustan SR does support healthy pregnancy

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Sustan SR does support healthy conception and pregnancy. Anyway in your case the main reason of this treatment is irregular menstruation.

This medication is a hormone that replaces the low progesterone in your body and regulates the menstrual cycle.

You can continue to do a urine pregnancy test or B hCG blood test to confirm whether or not the pregnancy is real.

Hope my answer was helpful. Feel free to ask me again if you have other questions.

Take care!

Brief Answer:
Follow the advice below

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

1) Home pregnancy test is 99 percent accurate. Anyway if you want to confirm pregnancy I suggest a beta hCG blood test and an ultrasound.

2) I don't think that there is any chance to be pregnant in your case but the only way to confirm it is a blood test and an ultrasound.

3) The medication that you are taking supports pregnancy so if you have intercourse during this period the chances of getting pregnant is higher.

4) If you do get pregnant you should stop the medication or continue it only with medical prescription.

So I suggest you to do:
- A blood test
- An ultrasound to check for pregnancy

Meanwhile continue the medication.

Hope I have answered your query. Take care.
