I Am Looking For An Infectious Disease Specialist To Review
Question: I am looking for an infectious disease specialist to review my 24 yo son’s labs and interpret. I uploaded them. See below for details. Thank you! We have an appt with his doctor Thursday but we are very anxious for an opinion. He is being considered for chronic Lyme given his. CD57 count and symptoms. We sent his blood off to iGenex. Thank you. He has been unwell off and on since he got mono at age 20.

Sorry for the delay in replying as I am traveling and the internet connection is not great.
Yes, he had an attack of infectious mononucleosis as evident from raised IgG. But he doesn't have an infection now ad the IgM is normal. He can get some symptoms post attack even in the absence of current infection.
CD57 may be related to the immune response to several infections and even malignancies and is not specific for Lyme disease.
Let us hope the pending results would throw some light.

The immunologist will investigate and find out the type and cause.
From the point of caring for him, keep in mind that he can catch an infection easier than someone with normal immunoglobulin levels and so try to avoid contact with infections.
There is nothing to panic or worry, it is likely that he has had it for sometime and you can await the immunologist's appointment.
