Brief Answer:
Repetitive stress injury possible

Detailed Answer:
Hi Ma'am,

Thank you for being with 'Ask A Doctor' service.

I have gone through your query with diligence. Your problem can be most likely due to repetitive stress injury. Neck and shoulder muscles can go into spasm and pain due to that.

You can do warm compress, apply gels containing NSAIDs like ketoprofen or diclofenac and methylsalicylate, take over the counter NSAIDs like Ibuprofen (Motrin). Ibuprofen you can take 400mg thrice daily for 2 to 3 days after food.

If no improvement then consultation with an Orthopedics and taking X-ray of the neck will be needed to rule out cervical spondylosis.

Let me know if anything not clear.
Happy to help you.
Thanks
