What Else Apart From UTI Can Cause The Frequent Urge To Urinate Along With Pain And Pressure?
Question: I am having a lot of frequency to urinate, it seems like a lot of pressure. I just got off an antibiotic last Thursday for UTI, but Dr at ER took urine test and said it didn't show up as that and gave me antibiotics anyway. I don't have the burning that would come with UTI because I've had this years ago. I am 52 year old female. last night it was really bad with pain and pressure

Based on the facts that you have posted frequency for urination and dysuria that you have is mostly due to what is called as Urethral Stenosis which is very common amongst females at the age of peri menopause .
As the age advances especially in females there is generalized atrophy of Genito Urinary organs that includes urethra too .This results in narrowing of urethral passage (Urethral Stenosis)causing incomplete emptying of bladder during every act of micturition .This results in significant amount of urine to remain in bladder what is called as Post Void Residual urine (PVR).Urine formation is a continuous process and as some more urine is added to bladder there is desire to pass urine causing increased frequency of urination .
Consult qualified Urologist for clinical examination and get following basic tests done to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Urine routine and culture.
2) Ultrasound scanning of abdomen and pelvis .
3) Endoscopic examination of Bladder (Cystoscopy) with Urethral Calibration .
Till then continue taking medicines prescribed by your Dr .
