I don't have any other symptoms of discomfort. Cutely feel well save for the dullness of the pain.

Brief Answer:
Cervical spondylosis may be there.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
From your symptom are suggestive of a nerve root compression at the cervical vertebral level due to degenerative disc changes or cervical spondylosis. It happens primarily due to degenerative changes secondary to age in the cervical spine. Past neck injury may also contribute to the degeneration.

X-ray of neck in lateral view or MRI will help in the diagnosis.

Treatment includes
1. Use of cervical collar helps in immobilisation and brings relief.
2. Medical drugs like pain killers - acetaminophen/ibuprofen and muscle relaxants might be helpful.
3. Methylcobalamin supplements are also recommended for nerve compression symptoms.
4. Cervical isometric exercises are beneficial to maintain the strength of the neck muscles. Neck and upper back stretching exercises, as well as light aerobic activities, also are recommended under the guidance of a physical therapist.
5. Hot fomentation helps in relieving acute symptoms.
6. You can avoid using a pillow.

I hope this answers your query.

I have no problems with my spine or neck. Never have. In fact I'm an avid health freak and exercise regularly and in great shape. Just an arm problem with dull pain under my arm. Concerned that I could have been heart related issue with pain in the left arm that's all. Nothing else bothers me. I exercise my neck regularly and have full 180 degree movement.

Brief Answer:
Not likely to be a cardiac issue.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
The dull pain with normal blood pressure and no breathlessness is not likely to be related to a cardiac issue. This is likely to be a muscular pain that can be relieved with rest, hot compress and mild pain killers. No need to worry.
Hope my answer is helpful.
