Brief Answer:
No specific causes...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Lipoma are benign tumors. Besides genetic and hereditary factors, there are no other known causes. So I am sorry no changes to your diet or life style will prevent lipoma.

Furthermore, until now surgical removal is the most effective treatment. If you do not wish to undergo surgery, you may discuss about liposuction or steroid injections. They could regress the lump to a certain extent. But whether or not it will be significant regression can only be determined by the treating doctor.

Hope this answered your questions. Let me know if you need clarifications.

Regards
