I Am 6 Weeks Pregnant, 40 Years Old, And Had

default
Posted on Tue, 2 Apr 2019
Question: I am 6 weeks pregnant, 40 years old, and had a miscarriage last Spring. I have had some brown colored spotting over the past week and mild cramping. This morning I had spotting that was pinkish-red and bloody when I wiped, but not heavy enough that it was on my pad or underwear. My cramps are very similar to menstrual cramps. In addition to all this. I have had constipation over the past few days and finally have been able to have a bowel movement this morning. Thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Brief Answer:
Can be an implantation bleeding.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.

A brown colored spotting at 6 weeks that you are having can be due to an implantation bleeding. If the blood HCG levels are rising then there is no need to worry.

You can get an ultrasound scan done to detect if the cardiac activity has appeared. Do consult your gynecologist and get some progesterone supplements prescribed to help control this spotting.

I hope this answers your query.

Brief Answer:
You need to attend an ER.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
The increased cramps and passage of clot suggests a threatened abortion. It is best to attend an ER and get an ultrasound scan done and get further treatment.
Hope my answer is helpful.
