Question: hi i am currently on the pill for acne and i want to wean off it but i am scared the acne will come back, what can i do?

Hi,
Thanks for the query.
I understand your concern.
Combined hormonal pills can help in correcting the hormonal imbalance and in decreasing androgen levels, which can decrease the severity of acne.
But to get the desired effect and for stabilization of hormonal levels you may need to use the pills for around three to six months depending on severity of problem.
Using oc pills like yaz for shorter period of time in young age may not lead to much problems.
So, better to continue your doctor's advice.
