Brief Answer:
Depends, between a month to two, opinion of family doctor, really gradual,

Detailed Answer:
Hi and tanks for the query,

Withdrawal from Lexapro should actually be a step wise process. A norml withdrawal period with fewer or at times no withdrawal symptoms usually ranges from at least two weeks to a month. The dose is usually reduce to half and taken for over a week of two, then to one quarter, taken once every two days for another two weeks.

As such, it usually takes about a month to six weeks to come back to normal.

It is important to note that persons respond differently to the withdrawal process. Some persons might need longer withdrawal periods which could even take up to three to four months. Supervision/monitoring of symptoms to intervene by your family doctor is advisable.

Kind regards,

Dr Bain
