Question: My 40 year old brother had a flash of light episode. It went away but he now has blurred vision in one eye that continues for days. No pain. He had a migraine a month ago but this is nothing like that. Hard for him to pay for Dr and/or get off work. How serious is this?

Brief Answer:
Get examined and evaluated by a neurologist

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concern.
Visual blurring in one eye maybe due to optic neuritis, pappilitis or fundus involvement.
He needs evaluation and examination by an opthalmologist or neurologist.
Investigations required can be planned after evaluation.
Hope you found the answer helpful.

I have MS for 17 years and was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism and put on synthroid. I am having fogginess-and lessened color vision in one eye since starting the synthroid 2 weeks ago. I have been to an opthamologist this past week and he says my optic nerve is not swollen but it is somewhat pale. My eyes does a little better when I first wake up in the morning- but as i get moving it gets harder to see. I really dont know what to do. I am worrying that this could be optic neuritis, glaucoma, or even a brain tumor. What should i do?

I have MS and have been seeing a neurologist for 8 years. I recently had optic neuritis again. I have had two appointments within the last two months as I changed form Betaferon to Aubagio with no real problems. My problem is I am not happy with my neurologist. How do I go about finding someone that comes close to where I live instead of our capital which is 700k away. I have one neuro in mind that travels from Brisbane to Rockhampton (closer for me) but I want to meet with him before I go changing where I now go. How do I go about it?

What are the chances that this exposure is the cause of her illness now?

Hello Dr. Chetana, I am 11 weeks 2 days pregnant. I had spotting when I was 9 weeks 4 days pregant, after an interanal scan they detected a blood clot outside the sac which was not deemed significant. However, the nuchal fluid was 2.54 mm thick and I was told that the pregnancy could be bad. I had suffered from mild UTI and throat infection for a couple of days. I am 29 years old (will turn 30 in 25 days). I am on thyronorm (increased from 75 mg to 100 mg). I had suffered from optic neuritis in 2004, but my opthomologist has certified it to be only viral infection and not related to MS ( I do not have any other symptoms). My gynecologist said the pregnancy could be bad and I should be ready for termination, I am in an emotional turmoil and need your advice. Please help me.... Thank you in anticipation.
