Brief Answer:
Please do so only under doctors supervision

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query and shall help you as much as possible. I would like to start by saying that it is protocol to always consult your prescribing doctor and be under his/her supervision while tapering off any medications to avoid any/all undesired withdrawal symptoms.

That being said, I shall also provide you with the information that you are looking for by letting you know the steps of tapering of this medication. It is done as follows:
-Start by taking half of this tablet twice a day for three weeks
-Then reduce it to taking half a tablet once daily for two weeks
-Followed by taking half a tablet once every alternate day for two weeks
-Then take half a tablet once every third day for two weeks
-Finally take half a tablet once a week (on a fixed day of the week) for 2 weeks
-Then stop it

If at all your daughter experiences any of the following withdrawal symptoms, please report to your doctor at the earliest. They are:
-Sweating
-Palpitation
-Tremors
-Increased heart rate
-Angina
-Worsening of condition being treated for
-and other much more serious complications. For this reason I strongly advice your daughter to taper off this medication only under the supervision and advice of your daughters doctor.

I understand how the process is long, but it is best to go through this path than to experience undesired withdrawal symptoms. I hope you find my response helpful and informative. Please feel free to write back to me for any further assistance, I would be more than happy to help you.

Best wishes.

as I have written we don't get ciplar LA 10 mg (Proparnolol) in the market ( half of 20 mg ). can we make it half of LA tablet, I have read somewhere we can not take half of LA tablets. If we can't take half of Ciplar 20 mg tablet then how to reduce the dose, can we increase the time between the 2 doses.

Brief Answer:
We can cut it sir, best to be under doctors care

Detailed Answer:
Hello once again sir.

You can take half of this tablet, do not worry sir. I understand that the 10 mg tablet is not available sir, which is why I have provided an alternative to help you, do not worry. I have mentioned reducing to half the tablet to start off with and later taking it less often in my previous instructions.

But I still emphasize on taking your daughter to a doctor and going about the steps of weaning off the medication under his/her care. I worry about the undesired withdrawal symptoms sir.

I wish your doctor lots of luck and hope she comes out of this sucessfully. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications sir, I am always available to help you.

Best wishes.
