Brief Answer: pcos a complex metabolic disorder Detailed Answer: Hello, pcos is a metabolic disorder that is complex and involves various functions. It requires medicines aftet diagnosis. Hormonal pills are given to regularise the cycles and aart from that diet and exercise are mandatory. Food supplements to reduce weight wont help. The weight gain is occurring due to endocrine dysfunction. Only way to lose weight is diet and exercise. Once hormone levels are normal again weight gain will stop. But medications may need to be continued life long. Insulin sensitisers are also given to help reduce chances of diabetes.
