Question: Hi Doctor,

My age is 34 and my wife age is 29. We are trying for conception from past 1 year. We got married 3 years back. We didn’t want to have children for one year and after that we are trying for conception. My wife has a medical history of fibroadenoma. She also have hypo thyroid issue also for which we contacted a dietician and also an endochronologist. She is using thyronorm 25mcg as on today and her t3,tsh,t4 levels are in range. she takes the blood test every 3months. I also observed that she has a bit hair on her lips. So i was suspsecting that it can be PCOS.she got ultra sound done for her utrus and it is perfectly ok. She also had done breast scan and the size of the fibroadenmoa are unchanged and tiny. So now that she want to take the blood test this week. My questions are
1.     What are the different items in blood test that she need to take for eliminating if it is PCOS or not?
2.     Are there any additional tests required other than blood test and utrus test to check if she has PCOS or not?
I would also like to check myself also.
So i being a male age 34 what are the tests that i need to check about the fertility of mine. Like blood test, semen analaysis etc. Please mention all the list of tests required for me to evaluate if i have any issues which can help in her conception.
Thank you sir.

Brief Answer:
Semen analysis required

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your concerns about infertility.

You need to get semen analysis done which is first step in the direction of your testing.

If your wife has no PCOS on ultrasound scan then there is no need to worry about blood tests. If you still wish get FBS, FSH, LH, AMH, Prolactin levels tested.

Let me know the test reports so that I can advice further.
