How To Determine The Conception Date?

default
Posted on Mon, 2 Jan 2017
Question: I had a normal period in October, then in November when I was supposed to get it again I had some light brown spotting for 2 days. Took several home pregnancy tests that were positive then had my HCG level done by my doctor and the level was 2199. I know they say u calculate due date from last period but I'm confused on this, am I counting from oct or nov?

Brief Answer:
USG will be helpful to know gestational age.

Detailed Answer:
Hi there, Dr. Purushottm Neurgaonkar welcomes you to HCM VIRTUAL CLINIC. I have gone through your question, and I think I have understood your concern. I will suggest you the best possible treatment options.

1 ) First of all do not panic.

2 ) I would like to know about your menstrual history. Did you have regular menstrual cycle pattern ?

3 ) With positive pregnancy tests, you are pregnant for sure Blood beta HCG values, have wide range of variability with week related values.

So it will be helpful to get the USG done to confirm and know gestational age of the pregnancy.

I hope this answer helps you.
Thanks.
