Brief Answer: individual history, observation, mental illness Detailed Answer: Hi, I went through the query and understood your concern. I appreciate your concern. Suicidal risk can be determined only after asking complete family and health history, previous attempts to suicide and his current mental health status. You should observe each individual personally, his/her behaviour along with the correlation with his illness & medications. Some time, the observations may be required for more the weeks to months. The tendency for suicide is more in individual with previous suicidal history and severe depression. So the determination is individualised and based on thorough history and observation. I hope this information helps you. Feel free to ask for any further queries. I will be glad to answer them. Wish you good health. Regards
