Hello,

The math behind blood sugars.

Blood sugars are a balance between the sugars you eat and the measures that you take to reduce sugars- including medicines, exercise.

So, obviously, it depends on what you are eating- a major step would be monitoring your diet. A large number of apps are now available that help you count calories- entering your planned meal prior to eating will help you control your diet.

Take your medicines regularly and exercise regularly- which by the query, I feel you are doing.

Now what I need to know-
1. the sugars without medicines were also post dinner? Or were they pre dinner? Were the diets in the 2 episodes (with and without medication) same? Because if the diet were different, as explained above, sugars will be different.
2. when you say post dinner sugars, when exactly do you take sugars in relation to your meal?

As for exercise regime, avoid jogging after meals- that is not advisable. You can take log stroll after food. The duration of the walk will need to be as per your comfort.
It may be better to monitor your pre-meals sugars and plan an exercise regime thereafter- eg at a fasting sugar of 78, exercise may actually cause the sugars to fall further and this may cause bad results.

I would request you to get a glucometer, if you don't already have one, and test the following sugars and let me know-
Fasting blood sugar.
2 hours after breakfast.
Pre lunch (half hour before lunch).
2 hours after lunch.
Pre dinner )half hour prior to dinner).
2 hours after dinner.
Please take them all on the same day. Take all your medicines as you should.
Let me know this chart.

Thanks.

Hello,

Please upload the sugar chart I recommended previously.
One set of sugars is not a sufficient record to change the dose.
this is especially so since your fasting sugars are normal.
therefore please let us know the values.
also I am hoping that your post dinner sugars are taken 2 hours after meal.
if it's taken earlier or later, this sugar is invalid.

Awaiting your response.
