Question: Hello My sister is 26 yrs old. She has been having irregular periods ever since she got her first period. From the last 5 yrs she has been diagonised with a slight condition of PCOD. She has went for both western and ayurvedic medicine and somehow the PCOD got cured with the ayurvedic treatment. But the irregular periods still continued. It happens like once in 2 or 3 months or more than that. She got married since the last one and half year. From the last three months she is seeing spotting and is not pregnant. She got all the test done for thyroid and all.But cleared of it. Recently she is again diagonised with little pcod and she is given the following medineces as attached in the file. After using Duphaston comp she got her period and it went on for 5 to 7 days. she is again told to have the same tabs after the 16th day from day she got her period. Please let know how to properly use these tabs. please let us know if we can use them and what is their purpose. Are these hormone tabs? she is trying to get pregnant also. please help.

Brief Answer:
Progesterone to conceive fast.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Thanks for trusting us about your healthcare.
I have gone through your history and understand your concern.
Duphaston giving from 16th to 25th day cycle to treat leuteal phase defect( deficiency of progesterone).
It will support pregnancy and helpful in conceiving fast because progesterone prepare endometrium and support pregnancy.
So in PCOD patient in which most of the cycles are anovulatory ( ovulation not occur), progesterone deficiency is there .
Progesterone is a hormonal pill.
Hope found useful, feel free to ask more information.
Good luck.
