Posted on Thu, 27 Mar 2014
Question: My girlfriend is 5 weeks pregnant & has taken one mifepristone tablet orally last night i.e. 07-03-2014. The pharmacist advised to take one misoprostol tablet orally after 12 hours, i.e. today morning and each tablet 12 hours thereafter. Is the dosage correct and does the tablet need to be swallowed or kept under the tongue ?

Brief Answer: dosage is correct Detailed Answer: Hello, The dosage is correct, and it has to be swallowed orally and not be kept under the tongue. You may proceed accordingly. However, a pharmacist is not the right person to prescribe these drugs. These are scheduled drugs and needs a doctor's prescription. Better to use it under a doctor's care. The current treatment regimen is correct though. Let me know if you have more queries. Regards,
