How Safe Is Silver Colloid Treatment For Morgellons?

I have ordered a product called Nutrasilver as it has cured many Morgellons and other diseases. I saw a clip on the Net of the Dr. Oz show. Both Dr. Oz and his father in law use it. I consulted my Dr. and he is adamantly opposed to it. He claims it can cause (silver) severe organ damage. The lady at the local health store sells it and says her clients swear it is great. Please advise what your opinion on Colodial Silver is. Thank You. XXXXXXX

As a medical doctor who has practice medicine for over 25 years I would not recommend this treatment. The disease Morgellons is a very interesting and frustrating disease for those who suffer from it. We on't know what causes it and unfortunately we have little to treat it. Therefore there are people who take advantage of people and make these outrageous claims stating they can cure Morgellons disease. There is absolutely no scientific data showing that colloid silver will help in fact it has potential side effects including silver poisoning.
I strongly urge you not to use this product.
