How Safe Is It To Get A Cortisone Shot While Trying For Pregnancy?

Question: I have calicific tendinitis in my right shoulder I got a cortisone shot two days ago and I want to know if it's safe to keep trying to get pregnant or should we wait

I appreciate your concern

Data on safety of cortisone in pregnancy is lacking. It would be a good idea to give a few days break for the drug to get eliminated and minimize chances of potential harm so that there are minimal effects on the embryo. A 5 day break would be advised, in my view.
