How Long Will MTP Kit Take To Show Effect?
Question: Hi my friend doctor has given me kit of combipack of mifepristone and misoprostol tablets.I have taken mifepristone two hours back.No bleeding has occured till now.Will it occur.Will it be diffrent for all women.The last time i had intercourse was 43 days back.And my period is 3 days late.Pregnancy test is positve.Am 26 years old.

Firstly I would like to suggest you that it is not safe to take the MTP pill yourself without consulting a gynecologist.
At most places it is not an over the counter drug.
Kit consists of one large tablet to be taken at once and then after 48 hours of that take the rest of the tablets In kit which are four in number.
After taking full kit, abortion occurs anytime between 6 hours to 5 days.
But in few patients there can be an incomplete abortion or excessive bleeding per vaginum and in that case you have to visit a gynecologist.

Hi doctor.What i want to know is what happens when we take the first tablet.in how much time bleeding may start.can u explain in detail please.And when can i take second set of pills.please explain.

First pill of the kit causes death of the baby as it withdraws progesterone support from pregnancy which is an important need to continue pregnancy.
Second set of pills is taken after 48 hours of the previous one and that causes the start of bleeding process.
Almost 80-85% of the patients Donot bleed after first pill.
So all in all nothing to worry and take the rest of pills after 48 hours but take them preferably in morning hours.
