Question: Hi, i am going to US to pursue higher studies and I was asked to submit an MMR vaccine form as per my university guidelines. I had taken the 1st dosage when was an infant but am yet to take the 2nd dosage. Is it safe to take the booster dosage or is it recommended to get the test done for antibodies of MMR ? Also how much does the MMR vaccine cost in XXXXXXX ?

Brief Answer:
Safe

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I understand that like most others you have taken the MMR vaccine in your childhood. It is absolutely ok and safe to take the second dose now. No need to test for antibodies (unless demanded by the educational institution). The price of MMR vaccine is very nominal (less than Rs.100 for a vaccine). The details can be found at:

Hope that helped.
