Posted on Mon, 11 May 2015
Question: My husband went for an endoscopy because he was having a lot of problems with his stomach while this was being done they perforated his esophagus he was hospitalized for two weeks and given antibiotics thru a pick line to heal this perforation, but his stomach problems sill have not been addressed . The perforation happened on 2/25/15 so in 3 days it will be 2 months. How much longer does he have to wait before he can have a second endoscopy to find out what is going on inside his stomach he is really suffering and he is very weak and not eating or sleeping.

Medicines currently on Protonix, carfate, magic mouthwash. was previously put on nexium.

Brief Answer:
still too early

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.

Considering this serious complication. he should still wait with completeendoscopy, at least 3 months should pass till esophageal mucosa wall heals.

If there is emergency, he should do barium enema swallow before that time.

Wish you good health. Regards
