I'm not following. If you took the drug test then why do you need to get the valium out of your system now? Isn't the test already done?
I am not sure if you want to get the valium IN (to help sleep; there are better choices by the way) or OUT (because of a drug test).
Valium is a long acting drug and stays ACTIVE for most of 12 hrs and takes days after that before the urine test will be negative (about a week).

Cold dark room, use bed only for sleep and not for work. Experiment with different amounts of food before sleep (generally NONE) but avoid any caffeine within at least 4 hrs of bedtime. If you aren't sleepy then do something else and don't just lie there.
Benadryl, and several non-habitforming prescription medications are better choices for sleep.

It was an old prescription from over ten years ago and I don't have the bottle any more nor do I see the doctor. If they want me to retake the drug test and I have not taken in a few days will it still be in my system

"old prescription from over ten years ago and I don't have the bottle any more " and certainly one month means none of it is there anymore let alone 10 years ago. It certainly isn't there from 10 years ago.
Or you had one bottle for 10 years... that would average under 1 pill a month and by an extremely odd, extremely amazing coincedence you just happened to have taken the last pill from 10 years ago within 1 week of the last test?

Knowing there would be a test, I do not understand why one would still take the drug. Also, it seems strange that one would be keeping the last one or two pills from 10 years and then taking them right before a job urine screen? And if you have the bottle you could say it's a prescription drug. If you don't have the bottle, you were storing the last 2 valium from several years ago in a separate bottle ? One could easily have anyone in the family mistakenly take the wrong pill.
Valium happens to be a very well-dissolved drug. It gets literally everywhere in the body. Furthermore it is quite sticky. 5 days is a real minimum for it being able to be gotten out. If you took charcoal and got all the valium that was near the gut out of you, there would still be 90% of it left. Since it gets everywhere there is no way to clean out everywehre rapidly. It will have to be cleared out by the liver over a week.
