The constant rise in temperature shows that there is a focus of infection in his body, which mandates the need for antibiotics. The symptoms that he has- headaches and body aches are all consistent with the high fever.
I would suggest you to do the following:

- continue taking Amoxicillin 500mg twice daily for a minimum of 5 days for the antibiotic to become effective.
- if ibuprofen 800mg is not effective in reducing the fever, you may switch over to paracetamol 1000mg every 8 hours. You may also consider paracetamol suppository 1gm for faster relief.
- cold bath is not indicated whereas lukewarm water bath will be better in relieving the heat from the body.
