Question: How long does the symptons of bipolar 2 depression last . It now has been 5 weeks , on seroquel.

In bipolar depression or any mental disorder, for maintenance, we have to give medicine for long duration, other wise, chances of relapse increases. Usually treatment period is around nine months and rest depends upon improvement. You have to take seroquel for minimum nine months. You can try some mood stabilizer like lithium or valoproate with seroquel. That would help to control symptoms in better way. Rest, you can discuss with your psychiatrist,
