Brief Answer:
Please mention the problem for which it had been given.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. Dexamethasone is a steroid which can be administered for a number of causes. I need to know for what complaints it has been administered. Usually it is given for its anti-inflammatory properties. The effects and its duration would therefore depend on the indication for which it has been given.

I would await your response. Let me know if I could help further.

Brief Answer:
72 hours

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. Intramuscular dexamethasone has a duration of action of 72 hours. However, I believe that inhalers (combination of bronchodilators and steroids) can be given and should provide relief.
