Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query and reports. Your liver enzyme SGPT is elevated. It can be due to alcohol intake. It will come back to normal gradually if you avoid alcohol. It is better to go for ultrasound examination of liver rule out any major liver problems.
You can take plant extracts like silymarin for 3 to 6 months and antioxidants like vitamin C. Avoid drinking tap water. Use filtered water which is clear from heavy metals. Take enough fruits and vegetables in your diet. Also get enough sleep (6-8 hrs) daily These all measures will be helpful to normalize your liver enzyme.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
once in 2013 i had dengue at that time also doctor give me udiliv so i am also little bit scared with name UDILIV 300 mg as i have heard someone they were saying taking UDILIV 300mg fails the function of liver so is that true? or can i take UDILIV 300 mg to correct this elevated liver enzymes.
though i know udiliv 300 mg is ursodeoxycholic acid which controls bile acid but i have seen taking udiliv 300 decreases the elevated enzymes though i don;t know how does it do it ..
so can i take udiliv 300 mg for 14 days?
will taking udiliv 300mg going to harm my liver or something in my body?
Short term intake of udiliv doesn't cause any harm.

Welcome again.
Thank you for your follow up query.
Short term intake of udiliv doesn't cause any harm. So it is ok to take 300mg daily for 14 days. Studies have shown that this will help to decrease elevated liver enzymes even in low doses like 250.
All drugs have side effects. Udiliv has comparatively less toxicity and in lower doses like 300 mg wont cause any harm.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
"In double the recommended daily dose ursodeoxycholic acid reduces elevated liver enzyme levels in those with primary sclerosing cholangitis, but its use was associated with an increased risk of serious adverse events (the development of cirrhosis, varices, death or liver transplantation) in patients who received ursodeoxycholic acid compared with those who received placebo. Serious adverse events, were more common in the ursodeoxycholic acid group than the placebo group. The risk was 2.1 times greater for death, transplantation, or minimal listing criteria in patients on ursodeoxycholic acid than for those on placebo."
i only had query regarding this liver transplant and cirrhosis as i am little worried of taking udiliv 300 mg now because in past i have taken this whenever i feel to quit drinking after heavy drinking because i used to think if i continue to start udiliv 300 mg course may be i stop drinking but this wont happen so this year in month of july i finally made up my mind to quit drinking and which i did also so today i am asking you the dose of udiliv that i took in past which i dont know myself how much i took it in past but i know only that i took udiliv in between mean time in past by giving gap of days and so . so if i start my course again will it going to harm my liver permanently or will i be needed for liver transplantation in my future when i become old or something ? or should i start course again so that later i could know how much ursodeoxycholic acid is there in my body by going through therapeutic drug monitoring test for ursodeoxycholic acid is that test is available here in XXXXXXX
Explained below.

Welcome again.
Thank you for your follow up query.
Alcoholic liver disease and primary sclerosing cholangitis are different. The adverse effects and cirrhosis you read is for primary sclerosing cholangitis and not for alcoholic liver disease. Also there is no use of taking udiliv if you start drinking again. You should get a counselling by psychologist which will help you to stop alcohol completely.
Taking udiliv in small doses like 300 mg for 14 days is safe also. It is better to take this after consulting your GP. There is no such therapeutic drug monitoring for udiliv in XXXXXXX Better to go for an ultrasound examination of liver to find out the status of your liver.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
