Question: Just found out that I tested positive for HSV1 and 2 but negative for the infection. Is this a transmittal disease because I have not had any kind of break out that they say come from contact

Brief Answer:
It can be transmitted, please read the details ma'am :)

Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. Yes the infection can be transmitted from an infected person to a healthy person, but this takes place when the individual is immunocompromised and in majority of cases presents with symptoms.

So it is a good thing that you have never had an outbreak of symptoms, because that means you have never transmitted the infection to anyone. If at all you do experience an outbreak of symptoms, do visit your doctor, get tested to confirm your status and your doctor will start you on some medications.

Other than that, I am happy you are keeping healthy. I hope you find my response helpful. Please feel free to write to me about anything, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.
